A 20-year-old Clinton woman is facing charges that she sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy in Southington in late June during a confrontation she had alone with the boy.

Loni Bouchard, of 133 W. Main St. in Clinton, was taken into custody last week on a warrant and arraigned in Bristol Superior Court on Friday on charges of second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

Police said the arrest came following a complaint made by a family member related to the teenager. Following the investigation, police obtained a warrant and she turned herself into police on Friday morning said Sgt. Lowell DePalma.

Bouchard knew the victim prior to the alleged assault, police said, but DePalma declined further comment.

The case has been sealed under court order and further information was not immediately available. The warrant could be released with the victim’s name removed in two weeks, court officials said.

Court records show that Bouchard is facing similar charges stemming from a July 12 arrest in Clinton, where the first encounter between the victim and Bouchard allegedly took place. Bouchard is facing charges of second-degree sexual assault, purchasing alcohol for a minor and two counts of risk of injury to a minor in that case.

Bouchard was released after posting a $1,000 bond following arraignment and is due back in Bristol Superior Court on Aug. 12 according to court records.
